1981 Chevrolet El Camino Question?

Hey guys, my dad just bought two Chevy El Camino's for about 500 dollars. They have been sitting a while, but the 1981 was in pretty good shape. We bought another one we will use for parts. My dad (being a car guy) had never seen a 1981 El Camino with a stick shift. Im not sure but I think it was a three-speed? Dont quote me on that, but I was wondering if this was a rare occurrence? Or if it was very common. Thanks!
